A Roller Door Can Serve A Variety Of Entry-Ways

A roller door can be found as an entrance to a storage shed in the backyard, patio door, warehouse door, garage door, closet and shower doors. The uses for a rolling style door are endless. This type of door can be installed to roll up on its ball bearing track unit or sideways. The doors that roll up are normally installed in a wider type of door in order to allow for larger vehicles, truck or equipment to move in and out. Warehouse doors are built wide enough for semis and forklifts to move in and out freely.

The sliding door rollers are more commonly used for closet, patio or shower doors. While the roller garage doors slide up and down on their tracks to open and close, the door rollers for sliding doors roll from side to side. Patio, closet and shower doors open and close from side to side and normally both doors will open, one at a time, however, not at both at the same time. This means that normally half of the doorway or bathtub/shower will be exposed with the door slid open. These ball bearing units need to be oiled once in a while in order to keep the wheels moving smoothly.

Patio door rollers sometimes need to be replaced when it becomes difficult to open and close the door. Standard rollers on patio doors often last from ten to fifteen years without needing to be replaced. Any do it yourselfer can replace these units when needed. A sliding patio door is often made with an aluminum frame around heavy glass. The weight of the glass opening and close can was undue wear and tear on the ball bearings of the tracking unit. If they are too worn they may not be able to be replaced so a whole new patio door will need to be purchased. A roller door is very useful in many areas of a home.
