Bamboo Floors

Bamboo floors have grown in its popularity due to it is beauty, it is easy to clean, longer lasting than most floors, is easy to install, and is ideal for allergy suffers as it does not harbor dust mites.
Bamboo is one of the hardest natural materials used for hard wood flooring. Bamboo is actually a grass that grows back quickly and can be harvested every five to seven years. This makes it very environmentally friendly.
With it’s many hues and colors you can match it with virtually almost any décor. Most bamboo floors are seen very glossy, however it can be matted or semi gloss, which ever fits your taste. New bamboo floors will give your rooms that high-end look without the expense.
Before putting down your bamboo floor you must first do your prep work. Make sure that your sub- floor is well cleaned and level. Remove all the shoe boards and lay them out of the way for later use. You can then take your bamboo flooring in to the room you will be laying it down in. Take it out of the box and lay it out on the floor. Let it sit for three days, as this will let it acclimate to the room’s temperature and moisture.
After your three days and you are ready to begin laying your floor. Make sure that your underlay is laid out in strips, as this will reduce the noise level and soften the floor.
Now you can begin laying down your flooring. Make sure that your finishing nails go through the slats and into the sub-floor and that, the nail heads are flush with the boards. It is best to work in small sections and to complete the project in one day.
After you have completed, laying down the floor, and putting the shoe boards back in place, it is best to wait at least twenty-four hours before walking on it and moving the furniture back in. You will want to use cushions under furniture legs to keep from scratching your new floor. Now, just enjoy your new bamboo floor.
