Where Do Cardboard Magazine Storage Boxes Come From?

Posted by Marylou Biederman in Storage

You might think that the idea of someone buying a cardboard storage box is quite strange. If you are a regular consumer, then you probably go through hundreds of cardboard boxes a year. This can really fill our landfills up if you just throw them in the bin with the rest of the trash.

If you choose not to throw out your boxes you can find many uses for them. They come in handy for storing old items in the attic or for moving house. Make sure that if you do choose to use a cardboard storage box for storage that you make sure the area is quite dry. A damp location can cause the cardboard to grow mold and mildew. On the other hand, maybe you do throw them out.

So what happens to these boxes? If you recycle them by flattening and placing them into your recycling bin, then they end up at a paper mill. At the paper mill the cardboard is soaked in a large water based formula. The soggy mixture is then broken down and refined to a coarse powder. This is then wet once again and formed into pulp which is then pressed into new sheets of cardboard.

The final product is either more cardboard boxes or possibly some store purchased cardboard storage boxes with lids. One great product for your home or office are cardboard magazine storage boxes. These boxes have one side open so that magazines can be easily stored inside. Being made from recycled material, they are also very eco friendly.

Decorative magazine storage boxes come in a wide range of colors and designs. I really like the dark red or black designs. These colors tend to go best with most offices and homes.

So don’t simply throw out cardboard storage boxes in the trash. Instead if you reuse, recycle or buy recycled product, you can support eco friendly behavior, rather than destroy it.
