There is no better way to spend a warm spring or summer day or evening than by sitting on your back porch enjoying a cold drink. And with today’s new patio furniture designs, you can turn your back porch into a virtual outdoor living room. And you can channel your inner interior decorator when choosing the perfect patio chair cushions to complete your patio set.
The first thing to think about is the type of fabric. If your patio furniture is under a roof or awning, then you can choose more delicate fabric and not be too concerned about it lasting. However, if your outdoor patio chair cushions are going to be in the direct sunlight, rain, and elements, then you will want to choose more durable fabrics that will last longer. And one way to make any type of patio cushions last longer is to put them in a shed or container to protect them from the elements.
Once you have chosen the type of fabric for your cushions, pick colors that make you happy. Take into consideration, what type of mood you want to set in your space and go from there. In order to warm up a shady outdoor space, you can warm it up with bright yellows and reds. In order to cool a very hot outdoor space, opt for cooler hues like blue, or purple. For a peaceful space, neutrals are your best bet.
To further address your outdoor space, buy additional fabric that is either similar to the ones on your patio cushions or that complements them. You could use this fabric to tie in the entire room and get that coveted designer look. You can even pick up some outdoor throw pillows to complete the look.
