How to Enjoy an Outdoor Party

Planning an outdoor summer party or even a small intimate gathering can be difficult and interrupted by mosquitoes and other summer-time insects. Petroleum based bug spray smells terrible and can ruin the taste of your dinner and the appetites of your guests. A natural alternative to these pesticides is citronella which comes from lemongrass. An exceptional method to deal with these insects is to add votive candles to your place settings. Votive candles made with citronella oil to ward off insects and make your dinner a pleasant experience.
Citronella votives also can be mixed with other fragrances to add a pleasing scent to any outdoor gathering. Votives are small candles so even though they can do they job of repelling insects the candles are not so large as to overpower the occasion with an unwanted smell. Citronella has been used for many years as an anti fungal and is registered with the EPA as being non-toxic. Amazing enough Wikipedia says that is also effective at calming barking dogs.
While barking dogs probably won’t be invited to your outdoor dinner party, the also un-invited mosquitoes will be enough of a nuisance to make up for them. Citronella votive candles strategically placed around your outdoor area can help ward off the uninvited pests and make a rewarding evening for you and your guests. Many of the votive candles available will burn for 10 -15 hours, long enough for your guests to enjoy a meal and an evening of fellowship.
Citronella votive candles are very inexpensive and can be purchased for as little as fifty cents a piece with the price going lower when buying in bulk. If you have several summer events planned or just enjoy sitting outdoors in the summer evening, buying a case of candles to make the experience worthwhile and relaxing would be a good investment.
