The Versatile Portable Garage
There are many different instances when a portable garage can come in handy, and considering that most moderately priced portable garages are not that expensive, many people find it is worthwhile to have one on hand. If you suddenly find that your garage is not able to house the number of vehicles parking at your home, you have a couple of options. One option is to build onto your existing garage. While this may be a worthwhile option for some families to consider, most do not. Families with older teenagers often suddenly find that they have more vehicles than they have room for. However, this is usually a rather transient problem, as older children invariably move away from home; thus a less permanent solution is often sought after.
Building an additional carport is a viable option. Carports are handy not just for parking vehicles, but they also provide homes with additional covered outdoor areas that can be used for a number of different purposes. If space is limited, however, or you are renting temporary housing, it may not be feasible to go to all of the additional expense to build a carport.
What is the solution? One solution that many find acceptable is to purchase a portable garage shelter. These have the advantage of being very easy to set up and take down, and you will spend much less on a portable car garage than you would spend adding onto your garage, or building a carport. They can be used to temporarily house your older son or daughter’s vehicles while they are still living at home, without needing to build a more permanent structure. Once the need for them is over, they can very easily be packed away and stored.
The great thing with the portable garage canopy is that you always have the ability of setting up additional parking should you need to. They may be occasions when you have an influx of visitors at your home, or someone is going to be staying with you for a short time. You do not have to worry about sharing your garage space with them if you are able to set up a portable garage. Another plus with owning this type of garage is that you can actually pack it up and take it with you whenever you go on a trip. They are perfect to take along on camping trips, especially if you are concerned about the care of your vehicle while vacationing.
Of course, they are also very handy to use for other reasons as well. In fact, whenever you need some type of temporary covered outdoor structure you can use the portable garage. There are many different types available on the market, and they come in a variety of different sizes. Generally, most are covered on all sides, with a covered roof and usually a roll up door. Think of them as a tent for your vehicle, and you will get a good idea of what they look like.
You can purchase these online very simply. When ordering, you usually order according to your vehicle type, which will help you select the right size. Many online retailers offer either very reasonable or free shipping terms, which can be a real help particularly if you are buying from a retailer located across the country. Prices currently range anywhere from over $600 to just over $200, depending on the size of the shelter and the material that it is made from. Heavier duty constructions are usually fully waterproof, although they do not stand up to very severe weather or strong wind storms for example.
