Using space efficiently is often one of the biggest challenges in decorating, and a storage equipped twin bed can make that task far easier. Whether the bedroom that will house the bed is filled with books, stuffed animals, or spare bedding, finding a good place to store all these items can be difficult. The availability of storage beds in all sizes has made solving this space problem easy. With one, multi-functional piece of furniture, you will instantly make any bedroom more comfortable and organized.
There are two main types of bed frames that offer additional storage. The first are those that feature built-in under the bed storage. Unlike plastic containers that are meant to serve this purpose, these wooden drawers are built right into the bed. This will keep them from looking like an afterthought, and will ensure access to them without the need to crawl under the bed. For small item storage, it is best to stick to options that feature many, small drawers. Larger items, such as extra comforters, may require larger drawers that run the length of the bed. The fact that items will remain so accessible means that they can even be used to store items that must be accessed regularly.
The second commonly available built in storage option is a headboard with built in shelving. One of the biggest benefits of these headboards is that they may be added to any bed frame. Even those with an existing frame can add a headboard in the appropriate size that will hold books, lamps and other items that often clutter bedside tables. Free-standing headboards are the easiest to install to existing frames, and will require little assembly.
Twin beds that offer built in storage space is the perfect finishing touch to any cluttered room. Consider using them for your child’s room or a spare room used for guests and storage.
