The first cost is the price of the synthetic grass itself and most of us are well aware that synthetic grass is not a cheap item. It is usually priced by the square foot and while $5 per square foot doesn’t sound like a lot, it takes a lot of square feet to make up a backyard.

The next cost that will have to be taken into consideration is a charge for delivery. The sheer bulk of the synthetic grass that will be required will not be able to be transported in the family car. The distributor may offer a deal for delivering the grass but in most cases there will be a charge of some sort.

Next is the cost of installing the synthetic grass into your backyard or wherever it is going to go. It is possible to do the installation yourself although you would have to be pretty darn confident you know what you’re doing so that the job is done right. Otherwise a team of installation experts will be required. It’s at this point that the costs could blow out a little because before the synthetic grass can be laid the ground must be cleared and leveled. Should there be any unexpected obstacles or unusual shapes to work around the price is going to blow out.

It always pays to plan for the price to be a certain percentage higher than you originally estimate to cater for any of the unexpected additional synthetic grass costs. At least then you won’t be left with a half-finished job or disappointment over the price breaking the bank.
