The Shower Screen
Posted by Marylou Biederman in Bathroom
Anyone who has ever taken a shower knows just how practical it can be to have a shower screen. They prevent water from leaking all over the bathroom and creating a wet mess all over the place. While at a distance they may all seem the same, as with any product on the market there are definitely distinct differences in brands, prices, styles, and functionality of shower screens.
There are several types of shower screens to choose from. These include, but are not limited to: curved, bifold, four fold, five fold, telescopic, enclosed, and corner. The folding shower screens are not restrictive and can be folded away to make more space. This is a great feature for those with smaller bathrooms. They also are better at preventing water leakage because there are so many panels to catch stray water droplets. An enclosed shower screen may be ideal for those wanting more security and privacy since it encloses completely around the shower and is efficient at blocking leakage as well. Telescopic screens are convenient because they pull out along the bath, but the price can be higher than most other types of screens.
Spending a little more on a screen may be beneficial in the long run because cheaper screens are typically made with cheaper parts and are more likely to crack. That being said, a more costly screen may come with extra features the customer may not want or need. However, they are usually made out of more expensive material that will likely withstand more and last longer. Another thing to consider is certain screens are only made for certain showers, so it may be necessary to figure out what type of screen is needed for a particular shower. More expensive ones are typically more adaptable. It is a good idea to make sure you are getting a screen that will function practically and look nice with your bathroom decor.
