Plastic salad tongs are best in that they combine the good factors of both of the above .They resist stains and are gentle with vegetables. In addition, they are heat resistant and dishwasher friendly. They are best for use at entertaining parties and can be bought for $5 or even less. The melting proof silicone tongs are another wise option.
