Why Choose an Electric Fireplace Heater?

An electric fireplace heater is another option for providing additional heat to a drafty room, or one where the flow of a forced air system fails to reach specific areas in a room. There are many different reasons for choosing such a product.
First, they can be much safer than a traditional fireplace. There is no chimney to clean and there are no gases such as carbon monoxide that are released. Gas log options can also create a potential hazard, as they can leak. They are also costly to operate. Today’s high fuel prices are passed on to the customer by gas service providers.
Electric fireplace logs come in many different options. Some are available without the surrounding fireplace, so they can be placed inside an existing one that is no longer in use. Others come with the entire fireplace and mantle. These are often the most expensive models.
There are units that are made inside ovens or stoves that resemble an old wood burning stove, for a country look, in cabins, log homes or those with a more rustic decor. Many have the option of turning on the heat, flame or both. The imitation flames look very realistic in some models. With the doors on the front, visitors will not know the difference, unless they are told otherwise.
Most of the units are freestanding. This allows for many different placement options, like a corner or against a flat wall. For some of the taller models, the frames can be attached or braced on the wall, for safety reasons.
Though most of the models offered provide a more traditional look, some models will work with contemporary decor as well. Features like metal trim and clean lines help them blend with the more simplistic lines of contemporary furniture. Home improvement stores and online retailers are the best places to look for a wide selection of products.
